Projects (Complete & Ongoing)
- Led initiative for improvements and repaving @ Highway 34 Pee Dee River Landing - Approved, work to start in 2023.
- Led the initiative to increase Base Pay for Darlington County Sheriff's Office, and fought for all other other county employees to receive MORE than 3% 'cost of living increase'. Additional 3% employee retention incentive - Approved and started showing up in paychecks late August 2022. County Council did not receive an increase in pay.
- Initiated and led the effort for a City/County project for vast improvements and enhancements to downtown Darlington by securing a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant - Project scope is under the implementation by the City of Darlington.
- Countywide Watershed Study - Ongoing (Buyout Program Options)
- Lawson Road & Oleander - Larger STOP signs installed due to numerous accidents at 2-way stop.
- Smith Avenue and Blue Street - Drainage issues. Ditches cleaned and watershed study to address.
- Initiated and led the effort to bring Broadband accessibility throughout the county
- Recycling Centers Expanded - McIver Road and Smith Avenue sites have been expanded to include more containers and revised schedules
- Speed limit signs installed in neighborhood off McIver Road
- COVID Vaccinations - Established host site for vaccinations to be given in Darlington (Thank You, First Baptist Church!)
- Lead the change for updates to our Animal Welfare Ordinance - updates passed; Tethering Laws did not pass.
- Spay/Neuter One-Time donation of $8,000 to sustain program through December 2023. Worked with DCHS Board to include $12,000 annual support for the Spay/Neuter Outreach Program. DCHS funds from the county increased to $265,000 to help cover this support for Outreach.
- Commercial property across from First Church of God - requested clean up and store front update to enclose/make safer due to close proximity to a church and a school.
- Requested clean-up of Wells Fargo ATM site since it's a main corridor into the city limits. Working to establish an ordinance to address unkept properties along the fringe of downtown areas throughout the county.
